The girls and I went with the Backcountry Betties and Babies group to Fox Hollow Farm in Issaquah. It was really fun. There were loads of animal, and baby animals frollicking around and several the girls could pet. Sheep, pigs, chicks, goats, ponies, horses and maybe more. These sheep the girls are petting were jumping around and chasing the cats. Very cute.
There were other fun things besides animals too. These giant balls for instance, as well as a big bouncy castle thing for the kids to jump in.
The highlight, after the initial shock of making the cars move, were driving the little battery powered cars around the place. Both had several turns driving the cars and couldn’t quite get enough.

Being a nice afternoon we headed to Seward Park to get out into the woods a bit. Tim and the girls found a fun tree snag to climb and there was a lot of tree climbing along way. There are some old growth trees in this park and it is really pretty.
Besides climbing up the trees, there were numerous trees laying on the ground to walk across. Of course all these downed trees left lots of branches and sticks to play with too. I think it was a pretty fun day.

Kayla had her spring parade for her school. The kids performed some of the songs and dances they had been learning for the incoming spring. Julia didn’t know the dances but wanted to be in the action anyhow.
After the dances the kids held their spring banners and paraded and sang the winter away, towards Lady Spring who was there to greet them with an egg shell filled with seeds to plant into the earth.

Look who did the monkey bars all by herself! She was so excited and proud to tell me this was her first time. Way to go K.

We had our March Hope Lodge time. The snow wasn’t great for skiing, so we spent a lot of time sledding. Well, without sleds mostly as it was too fast for the girls to be on sleds. Not sure what to think about Tim putting his helmet on and then having Kayla on his back, but it all worked out okay.
Kayla, Julia and their friend did more what looked like luge runs. They went pretty fast on their backs, bellies and stomachs.
The girls really had a great time there. Playing in the snow, sledding, hot tubbing, going in the sauna, playing in general. Kayla had another fun ski lesson, and Julia did way more walking around in the snow. Hope Lodge already has a place in Kayla’s soul. She was so sad to leave she cried for a good part of the trip home.
