We went up to Scottish lakes this weekend for some backcountry adventuring. It dumped about 2 feet of snow 2 days before we went up there and we couldn’t really have asked for more ideal conditions. That left plenty of untracked powder for all. We were there with a group of friends who do this yearly. The ride up to high camp involves a snowmobile ride, and Kayla did great on the way up and down. She also handled the cabin and all the blockades away from the wood stove fairly well. She really started pulling herself up on everything this weekend. Kayla enjoyed playing with her friends and trying to follow Deacon up the steep spiral stairs. Of course that didn’t work out. She has managed to get up real low steps, but nothing more yet. Phew. She also learned the new sounds ma ma ma ma and practiced yelling it all the way on the ride there. She has really started saying da da and signing “daddy” at the same time, so we do think she gets the distinction. Smart one. Sorry, the camera didn’t come in time for the trip. If my friends send any good photos I’ll add one.
