Thanksgiving generations

28 November 2013

Thanksgiving here was in Portland again. My girls, as usual, couldn’t be happier to be around the twins. This photo shows Delores and Wayne with all the grandkids and great-grandkids that were there that day.

skating

On Veterans Day, a nearby ice skating rink had free skating all day. The girls and I and their friend Ella decided to try it out. It wasn’t as crowded as I had expected and they had a 2nd smaller ice rink for the younger kids that we found after a while. This was the first time Julia was on single blade ice skates and she did well. Kayla was doing laps around the rink and we all had some fun.

snowshoe

9 November 2013

We were excited to get some snow in the mountains and decided to go on a little snowshoe hike as the ski area was still closed. We hiked on one of the trails near the nordic center. The girls had a lot of fun, but we didn’t get very far. Someday I’d like to continue all the way up the trail to get to the lake but it wasn’t meant to be this time. It was more fun for the girls to eat the snow and make snowballs. This was our first time all 4 of us snowshoeing together.
