Halloween was another fun year for the girls. Kayla was a cheerleader and Julia was a gumball machine. She said it was “annoying” because everyone kept asking her for a gumball. (They were real). We did our usual trick or treat through the park, having some soup with friends and then all trick or treating on our block together. Somehow they end up with too much candy every year!

This year we made time to go to a farm for pumpkin picking. The weather didn’t cooperate too well but we still had fun. The girls spent a long time picking out the perfect pumpkin and had fun washing off the mud. As you can see, they were not small pumpkins. It took a long time to get all those seeds roasted, but they were yummy.
We met some friends at the farm this year. Kayla, Julia and Autumn helped to pull the rope to get the trebuchet set up. It is always fun to see a pumpkin get launched that way.

Tim joined the girls and I for the Day of the Dead festival at Seattle Center this year. This is the 3rd year the girls and I have gone, so they are pros. Here they are concentrating on painting their sugar skulls.

It was walk and rolllathon time at the girls school again this year. Luckily the rain took a break that day so it was some dry running/walking. I was not able to be there for Julia’s turn, but I did get to see her class come out and cheer on the older kids. It was fun to see them all giving high fives to the older kids. Julia did 17 laps this year. That’s about 4 miles.
I was able to watch Kayla run all of her 21 laps, roughly 5.25 miles. She seemed to be enjoying herself. This photo is of her getting another tally mark on her shirt. They get one at the end of each lap. Both girls are having a hard time walking today, but they both did really well!
