Miss Julia turned six on Friday! She now needs two hands to show how old she is. Her flu lifted (well almost all the way) the day before so she was able to go to school for her celebration there. We had a nice mellow dinner at home and then a movie as I think she was still a bit worn out from being sick.
On Saturday she had a small birthday party. We took two of her friends to the climbing gym to try their hand on the wall. They tried climbing on the ropes, bouldering and playing in the pirate ship. I think their favorite thing to do was to play sharks while running around upstairs in the kids bouldering area. After the gym we came home for cupcakes and then the parents came and ended up hanging out another 2 hours. Unexpected but fun for all. I still can’t believe my little girl is now 6!!

Well, the tooth that has been wiggly for so long now finally came out last night. Julia said she just sort of pulled it out. The little girl face is moving on to the next phase. She is having lots of fun with her new hole. This marks the 3rd family tooth out in a month’s time. When Zayden was visiting, Kayla and Zayden both had a tooth come out in the same night. Pretty fun. I wonder if sharks teeth are wiggly before they come out.

We decided to head to our cabin to ring in the new year. Sunday night we decided to try out night skiing. It was a clear night and the trees looked really beautiful. It was fun and not too cold.
The next day we went out to the river near our cabin to look for any signs of ice. The girls managed to find some forming in places. They had a lot of fun with that.
New years eve was complete with sushi and a dance party. What could be more fun?
Somehow Tim and the girls decided to have another outside fire (in the cold this time, no rain at least). Kayla then decided company would be fun and went across the street to invite over the neighbors that have an 8 year old daughter. The three came over and hung out for quite a long time. I actually almost made it up until midnight due to the visit. Wow! It was a great time. Not a lot of skiing, but other fun stuff too.
