Julia has been asking to go skydiving for some time now. Since her birthday isn’t too far off I decided to look into it. Well, you need to be 18 to go skydiving outside. But, I learned of an indoor skydiving place near Seattle. And, you can do it as young as 3 years old. So, hearing of a two for one deal, I signed the girls up. Here they are waiting for their turn watching some others fly.

It really is quite the operation. There is the waiting time, then the class time and then the gearing up time and finally your flying time. Apparently after you’ve done it once, you skip the class instruction and can get in there sooner. They do it in groups of folks, and your fly time is quite short.

The flying is done in a big wind tunnel. There were loads of first timers there this day and the instructor is in there with you to help guide you and keep you from flying up or crashing. Apparently each slight movement of your arms or legs can make you move or turn. The good flyers were able to stay in place.

Each girl got two flights. The second time through the instructor flew with them and they went way up the tunnel and down and around again. The instructor also does a show off at the end and the one reminded me of how a superhero would fly. Straight up, down, round the circle, backwards, every which way really. Both girls really liked it. Now, I can’t wait for my turn!
