Miss Julia is still loving preschool. This year the kids took turns being the Friend of the Week. Julia brought in some pictures, had a show and teach and the last day they do a body tracing and the kids color it in and write what they like about the person. They love it.
Julia’s preschool went on the field trip to Discovery park for the low tide. There weren’t lots of critters out, but they saw crabs, snails, anemones, barnacles and other things too. They had a good time and the rain stayed clear for the few hours we were out. Julia is in the purple coat.
Julia took a break from gymnastics to do a pottery class and then another round of ballet. She seemed to enjoy it, but now is back to gymnastics. It’s pretty interesting to see what activities the kids pick out.

We did our March Hope Lodge trip again this year. Tim and Kayla went a day earlier than Julia and I. There was more snow there this year than I’ve seen in the last several years. It was quite a difficult hike for the girls to get up there. Snowshoes would have helped a lot. We again had the ski slopes mostly to ourselves one day as the road from the west (seattle) was closed for avalanche work. Makes skiing or snowboarding in the powder extra fun. Though, it was quite heavy snow and hard to turn in at times. Tim and the girls had an epic 2 hour ski run as there were lost skis, digging out of snow, and other such powdery fun to deal with. I have never seen that much powder on the main runs before. Hurray for road closures.
This March trip there were some communication difficulties and we had the place to ourselves one night. You can see that I pretty much had my sleeping mat to myself. These three only needed a quarter mat. We still love hope lodge. Though we have our own little cabin now, this place is for other good times with friends. And, if we had stayed at our cabin this time, we would have been stuck in that road closure too.
