We took Zayden (and the girls) to drive go-karts for his birthday. Kayla rode in one of the gas powered karts and had to have her leg fully extended to touch the gas. Her pace was slow and steady.
Zayden got faster each run and seemed to really enjoy himself. He preferred not to race with his cousin as she slowed him down a bit, but he did get one lap to himself.
Julia was able to race in one of the electric cars. She seemed to enjoy herself too (as you can see in this photo with tongue hanging out-signature Julia look). She was a bit hesitant to ride at first, but after watching her cousins do a lap she jumped right in.

The girls and I headed down to a park on a whim to hang out, and were surprised by the community center festival going on. We caught the tail end of it and the girls managed to get the last pony rides for the day- with hardly a wait. They loved it.

We had the Hawaii clan with us for our 4th of July camping this year. It was loads of fun. The weather wasn’t perfect, but we had a nice sunny day the first and last days. There were loads of salmon berries for the kids to collect and eat. The huckleberries weren’t ready yet as it’s been so cold. Only a handful of the dark blue variety.
We did several walks in the woods and those were really beautiful. I still love the one that goes along the river. To get there you cross this beautiful bridge. The berries helped to keep the little ones going.
We managed to bring bikes for the kids this trip and they all seemed to really enjoy that. Riding on the trails even. Miss Julia, who so far hasn’t taken to riding, couldn’t get enough of riding around on the trails on her balance bike. She must have some of her daddy’s mountain biking in her. It was pretty cute.
