Tim turned 40 today. We had a meal out at Aqua Verde, a usual favorite spot. Kayla was at home sick all day, so we weren’t great company for Tim on this great day, but I think we all managed to have fun. Tim and I will have a keg party in a few weeks to celebrate both of our turning to midlife days. (By the way, this photo is actually from Easter but I’ve been failing to document with a camera. He is holding little baby Ava.)

The other day we had one of those beautiful sunny spring days here. There was a good amount of wind so Julia and I decided to head over to the park to fly the kite she got for Christmas. It was really fun. I may have had more fun than Julia, but we both managed to get the kite into the air and fly it.

My climbing girlfriends and I were able to get away for a 3 hour horseback riding adventure. It was in Sammamish and most of the ride was really quite fun. It did however turn into quite the mis-adventure (maybe sometime you’ll hear the story) but we all made it out with no more than some bruises and scratches.

We didn’t think we’d get to Hope Lodge again this year, but got a call day a fews days before the March dates saying we could go. So, we rallied and headed up. There were only 4 other folks besides us this time but it was still really fun. Very different than January in that it snowed lots every day. I got the car stuck one day and that evening frantically called the ski area (who we are told plows the road) to please plow the road that night. They did and good thing because it snowed at least another foot an there would have been no way we would have made it out.
The snowboarding was fantastic. One day there was fresh powder all day which never happens at that ski area. A bit of heaven. The girls had fun too and Kayla found some huge icicles. The sledding wasn’t as good because there was so much powdery snow, but we managed to have fun anyhow. Poor little Kayla came down with the flu the last night so her last day wasn’t as fun but she was a trooper.
