One day when I was out of town, Grandpa Jim and Great grandma Barbara came to hang out with the girls and Tim. They all claim they had a fantastic time. Looks like they got a bit silly by the looks of this picture. Tim said something about “apple nose” in the picture. You’ll have to ask him more about that.

Climbing season is here and I finally got a new rope so it was time to test it out. Since I had the girls with me, we went to a local park where the mountaineers have set up some climbing routes for practicing. It was fun. Kayla did some climbing too and had fun wearing her harness.
Julia didn’t want to try out any climbing with the rope but found other ways to stay entertained. The moutaineers built a rock slide area where the girls bouldered and climbed rocks a lot. Julia also found a nice little shaded spot to hang out. They were super fun to be with there. Next stop- real rock!

We did our first tent camping trip of the year. We went back to a campground we had enjoyed last year and had fun again. There is a nice walk down to a pretty beach. Here are Tim and the girls in a little driftwood shelter they found. There was some clay at this beach so Tim and the girls spent quite a bit of time playing with that. It was a messy venture, but they had a good time.
There is a pretty walk in the woods across the street from the campground that we all did together the first day. There was a bit longer trail that we wanted to do the next day, but since Julia refused to walk and Tim didn’t want to carry her, I lucked out and got my first hike alone with Kayla. We had a great time. She wanted to document the hike and had me take photos of her posing in the woods. You can see her fancy camping attire. Just when Kayla was wondering if she wanted to walk further, the flora changed and we entered a path of salmonberry bushes with lots to pick to help her keep going. It was a pretty special hike. Tim and Julia had a pretty good time too hanging out at the campsite.
