Little one weighed in at 15lbs 5 oz, and is now 25.5 inches long. She is healthy and very fun. She continues to move around quite a bit by rolling, and certainly has mastered the 360 degree turn around. One needs to check quite a radius around her for unsafe objects. Her desire to move, however, brings her a lot of frustration of course, which in turn brings us some crankiness from Julia. If I haven’t mentioned it before though, I just love it when I come into the room and even if Julia is crying about something, she will often stop when she sees me and kick her arms and legs because she is so excited. I just love that.

Kayla and Juila’s great Grandma Delores and Auntie Suzie came up for a visit. They were able to spend the night and Kayla sure had a blast. She was all consuming of their attention, which they were very generous with.
Thursday afternoon ended up being nice enough that we headed to the wading pool. Kayla sure had fun in the water. She is starting to copy the older kids and getting more adventuresome in the water.
On Friday the weather wasn’t as nice, but Great grandma was able to get in her swinging up at the playground. Both Suzie and Delores were so helpful in entertaining the girls so I could get some “business” calls done. Kayla even woke up from her nap on Friday asking for Suzie, who had sadly already left. She still likes to drink out of “grandma’s” plastic cup that was left behind.

Kayla was just so genuinely happy to see Julia on this morning that I had to share the picture. Kayla often has a “camera smile” and this one was wasn’t posed. Julia isn’t quite as sure about the good morning hug though…
Now that Julia is sitting a bit more and can move in a circle on her belly, she is beginning to get into the toys Kayla might be playing with. I now have a window into how things might go once she can actually crawl. Yikes.

What’s that you’re doing? Finally, Julia was given the “official” feeding. Our little dear seems to have been waiting quite some time for this moment. She didn’t hesitate and finished off all of the little bit of food I made for her. She was even given only the boring rice cereal. She was grabbing the spoons and practically feeding herself. She had fun, and it’s fun to have her at the table joining us for meals in a new way. Julia has been sitting better for a few days now, and just in time for this feeding moment. A week ago she couldn’t have been in the highchair without someone holding her up.

We all packed up and headed out to Jay’s cabin for the weekend. I was a bit apprehensive about the whole deal, but it worked our really nicely, and Kayla got to know a few of our friends a bit better.
Kayla got to go out on the boat for a little ride on the lake. She really enjoyed it, and had a lot of fun watching the brave ones swim in the cold water. It’s always nice to get out to Lake Cushman and enjoy the beautiful view and good friends.
