That’s right, I did have the forethought to ask for a family photo. I believe this is the second one since Julia was born…
We are trying to branch out and do some fun things, so we joined some friends for some live music at one of the local community centers. It was fun to visit with good folks, but the music wasn’t the draw. Maybe next time we’ll have better luck with who is playing.

We went over to vashon for the wedding and had a good time. Kayla of course enjoyed the beach and playing with her friend Ava.
Timmy got to see some of his good dear friends, and I spent a large portion of the time trying to get a baby (whose name shall not be mentioned) to sleep or to eat. Because of that, however, I did get to enjoy the amazing hail storm from out of the car window, rather than directly in it’s path outside. The wedding was lovely and another good reason to get to Vashon.

I am rarely in any photos, let alone with my sweet girls. They just keep growing and are both so hugable and kissable right now. I love you both lots!

Just this morning Julia completed her attempts at a full back to front roll. She struggled for a bit to get that one arm out of the way but she did it finally. She looked pretty proud too, as she should be. After another roll over or two Julia seemed content to start bubble blowing again. Way to go Julia!

Most people go to the zoo to see the animals, and though Kayla was able to pet a goat, that didn’t seem to be the highlight.
Kayla has found other fun “attractions” that are the current big hit. Attraction number one: the hand washing area. What could be more fun than flowing water and foam soap and playing in the soapy bubbles…
Attraction number two: driving the tractor. And the third and newest attraction is dancing in the Masai hut.
Kayla continues to get even more friendlier all the time. She interacts more and more with other children at the playground, and continues to be interested in the older children, boldly going up to them and joining in (or at least making the attempt). She is also trying out more climbing and such at the playgrounds, surprising me all the time with what she can do. Her imaginative play is also increasing all the time, and she is singing more and dancing quite a bit too.

Miss Julia scored her first tooth today. Just two days shy of five months old that little point sprung up. She seems to be taking it all reasonably well. I have a feeling the second is not far off.
Julia is more aware all the time. Grabbing more accurately, especially the hair. She can even grab Kayla’s hair now that it is getting longer. This open mouth look is her signature and seems to be her smile and laugh. We cherish this little being and can’t believe how quickly she is growing.

I was looking out of our bedroom window the other day and saw this bird. I believe it to be a sparrow. I had only seen the brown (females?) before and not this pretty green one.

I love that we have a yard. Kayla has quite a bit of fun back there.
Kayla loves playing in water and sometimes on hot days we fill a tub with water. This day she was helping out by watering the plants. Kayla also loves picking a strawberry or two from our little patch. We are now waiting for the raspberries and blueberries to ripen.
Julia’s backyard fun is somewhat limited to laying on a blanket or being carried around, but as usual she enjoys watching her big sister. She is also intrigued by the trees and bubble blowing.
Most of the flowers in our yard currently in bloom are the “weeds”, but the mock orange tree is in full bloom and looking and smelling wonderful.

Just in case anyone was wondering about family resemblance… I think this crew has the punk rock look going.
