Julia grows again

25 May 2007

At four months and one week, Miss J. weighs in at 13 lbs 4 oz and is 23 inches long.

Julia has recently found her feet and is playing around with holding onto them. She also has begun to play peekaboo on her own. She of course loves to put anything in her mouth. Julia seems to love music and will often sing along with us when we sing. Julia knows “If you’re happy…” and will put her hands onto your hands to get ready for the clapping. She also likes to look at books and still loves watching big sister Kayla. She is full of smiles and is a very loving sweet girl.

Goodbye to a good friend

Aris Haswell Taft, 1987-2007. The softest cat I’ve ever pet, the sweetest purring snuggle lap cat, the strangest meowing cat and a very loving to our new babies cat. Thanks for all those years we had. You were very loved.

Low tide

19 May 2007

We took a boat out to the grand isle of vashon to visit with folks and hit the low tide festival. It was a nice cold windy May day here in the Northwest, but we managed to stay warm, at least for a little while. Ava and Kayla had fun exploring and scavaging for shells and other beach items.

I was excited to see quite a few starfish, especially some purple ones. Check out the many legged one in this picture. Weird. Tim didn’t get to see the crabs he was hoping to. Mostly the ones we saw weren’t moving very much if you get my meaning. There was some camouflaged seaweed and a few gooeyducks, but not much more in the bit of beach we combed.

May's more than half over?

Wow, hard to believe we had come this far already in May. Miss Julia will turn four months old on Friday. Craziness.

We had fun when the Hawaii clan visited. Kayla really loved “playing” with Zayden. Julia loved all the extra hands to hold and play with her as well. If only I could just rock her to sleep in the rocking chair…

Mmm, cheese. Tim set the food out to make burritos, and by the time we sat down, little Kayla had loaded up her plate with her favorite. The condiment idea hasn’t fully connected with her yet. Kayla’s vocabulary continues to grow. She has some cute new phrases as well, such as “hi guys”, and “did you have a good Monday?” and some others too.
