Julia has been working hard this week. A couple days ago we heard the first giggles. Very sweet as you can imagine. Then, when we propped her up in the tripod position, she sat there by herself for a few seconds. She is one strong girl. Then this morning she woke up (after a night of waking every hour or two!) with her 3 month scream/screech sound thing. No wonder she hasn’t been sleeping so well. She seems to be having fun with it all and continues to be sweet as can be.

We had a nice small party for Kayla’s 2nd birthday. We celebrated in our backyard as the weather was beautiful. Zayden, Julia, Leo and Ollie were there to play.
The kids had fun blowing bubbles and hiding their balls in the plants. They really enjoyed this yummy cake too.
Ha ha just kidding. That one had some technical difficulties. We did have a last minute alternate cake.
Kayla loves her new rocking horse. She and Zayden had fun opening the box and playing in that as well.
Even miss Julia had fun hanging out under the lilac tree out back. She seemed to enjoy the bubbles as well.

We had a visit from Grandpa Jim and Great Grandma Barbara. Kayla loved showing off for them and sought out attention the whole time they were there. She sure got some too. Who can resist such cuteness?

Julia- she is starting to interact with us more. It is so sweet when she wraps her little hand around your thumb. Her smile is so endearing and she is really starting to roll from side to side and be pretty active. She still sleeps a lot of course, but loves her activity mats and looking at books with Kayla.
Kayla continues to be a social girl though her attempts at interacting don’t always work. For instance, running away from a child thinking they will follow and run with her. She is incredibly thoughtful though and now asks “you okay?” when you bump your arm or something. We are now regulars at story time and the little gym where Kayla will moslty take in whats going on and then repeat the activity at home.

Guess who rolled over today? Well, I did of course. Wouldn’t you roll over if you were always put on your belly when you want to be on your back? Don’t mind my hair do, it’s all the rage for babies right now.

The weekend started off with an easter egg hunt on our street. This is an annual event, though Kayla’s first time. Our neighbor Micah took charge of Kayla leading her around the block. The older kids were really good at leaving some eggs for the younger ones.
Of course Kayla couldn’t resist stopping to see what was in the eggs which of course led to sampling the goods.
We then drove to Longview for a visit with the Tafts on Saturday evening. The drive went much better than expected. Phew. On Sunday morning we stopped by the site where Stanley was interred on Friday.
We then headed to Grandma Delores and Grandpa Wayne’s for Easter dinner. This included an early birthday celebration for our soon to be two year old! Kayla loved opening all the presents and was actively involved in the process this year. Thanks to everybody for continuing to dress our little ones in some cute clothes.
