Kayla got to go to the new sculpture park opening with Oma and her daddy. Mom stayed home as she is not getting around so well yet. Apparently the “cow” coat was as big of a hit as the sculptures.
Tim took Kayla to the store to get fixings for cookies, and then they baked some together. This is what the big sister character does in one of the books we have. Kayla seemed to have fun not only baking, but eating the cookies too. Note the headwear. Kayla has taken to one of Julia’s baby hats and has been wearing it all day.
Today was the last day of the little gym session for the season and Oma went with Kayla to document some of the fun. I’d say that she looks pretty relaxed after the ribbon ceremony.

Miss Julia Rose has been a new blessing in our lives for sure. She of course is sleeping and feeding a lot. I still am amazed at her head of dark hair and how big Kayla seems now. It’s sad to lose my little girl.
Kayla wants to hold “this one”, as she calls Julia, often. (She also says Julie if prompted.) It’s been really helpful to have Oma and Tim around to help out with Kayla.

Miss Julia Rose was born on Jan. 18, 2007 at 9:55am. She weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce and was 19 1/2 inches long. She is amazing and beautiful.
Kayla and Oma came to the hospital to visit Julia. Kayla was very loving, giving Julia lots of hugs and kisses. It was very sweet.

Taking advantage of what might be the last of this year’s seattle snow, Kayla helped her daddy build her first snowman. He was mostly melted by the next day, but we won’t tell the snowman that. Kayla got to ride in the sled on her way to the little gym yesterday, and Oma took her sledding that afternoon as well. I’m glad that Kayla got to play in the snow nearby. She seemed to enjoy the sled somewhat.

Oma came in last week and as there is no new baby yet we are finding ways to stay warm and keep busy. Kayla loves her Oma and is having lots of fun. Playdough is a favorite right now as is riding around the house on her new bike.
Tim and I went for a walk the other morning on what we thought was a light snow covered day. Turns out the trees were covered with frost. It wasn’t just any frost either, everything looked as though it was covered with thorns. It was really pretty. The picture isn’t great, but you can get a sense of how it looked.

We started out New Years Eve at “Baby loves disco” which was held at one of the local clubs. It was Kayla’s first time clubbing. To be true to form, the place got a bit too crowded, but maybe not as bad as it could have been. It started during Kayla’s naptime, so she was a bit sleepy and wanted to be held for a good long time.
This tent area was in another room and Kayla collected several stuffed animals as well as spent some time with her Daddy blowing on a new year’s noise maker. The party was complete with a noon time count down to the new year.
After we left here and Kayla had a good long nap, we went to another party. This one started at 4pm. We are the party animals these days. Kayla had such a good time at this party. Here she is playing with Eli. On the way home Kayla sang and talked the whole way. It took quite a long time to get her to wind down for bed.
Here Kayla is sporting her new years day look- showing off her new leggings she got at the disco party and wearing daddy’s hat backwards. Her choice. :-)
Happy new year everyone.
