This was Kayla’s first trick or treating experience and we think she had a great time. She was super cute as the elephant and though she would say “trick or treat” at home, she was a bit shy at the neighbors doors.
She had her first taste of candy and danced around the room with glee.
Riqui, Mari and baby Ricardo came over to join in the fun.

We were quite the party goers this weekend. After a costume party where Kayla refused to wear her costume, we went to a pumpkin carving party.
Kayla likes the pumpkins and taking the lids off the daddy, kayla and mommy pumpkins.
On Sunday we attempted a hike out past Snoqualmie pass. The drive there might have been an indicator that things might not work out quite right. The road itself has several large puddles to drive through as well as some tree/branch tunnels. As we were driving to the trailhead, the rain changed to snow and it was all snowing when we parked.
The trail ended up being so grown over that we only made it about 20 feet. We decided to walk the rest of the way up the fire road which was really pretty as there was a good inch or more of snowfall. Kayla was not dressed appropriately (none of us were really, we didn’t expect snow) and the way back to the car was pretty miserable for all.
On Sunday after our hike we went to some friends and Kayla the elephant got to hang out with her chicken and darth vader buddies. They had a lot of fun as did we.

We had a fun weekend. It started with breakfast with Joe, Korey and Beni whom we had not seen in a while. We then all drove out to a pumpkin patch for some fall festivities. There was a hay maze which Kayla went through with her daddy and seemed to have lots of fun. After the maze we took a tractor ride to the pumkin field and Kayla helped pick out some good ones. Back at the farm we looked at the chickens and pigs and then drove home.
Sunday we had a leisurely morning and in the afternoon we went to discovery park. Tim ran the loop while Kayla and I took a long walk to the bluff (long because of toddler walking time) to meet Tim. We stopped and picked up leaves, seed pods, looked at bikers and dogs, said hello to lots of people and of course did lots of running.

We left the big island the night before a pretty large size earthquake. Vicky, Lila and Zayden are all okay after a bit of a shaking. It sounds like they had quite the wild ride with a very shaky house to get out of, broken dishes and windows, falling tv’s and house moving off the foundation. We are very thankful they are okay!

We were Hawaii bound again, and I had much better luck with NW airlines this time. Phew!
The trip was very relaxing and fun, especially for little Kayla. She seemed to have such a good time. We went to the beach often and Kayla loved to dig in the sand and be in the water. It made me smile to see her having so much fun.
She also loved to follow her cousin Zayden around, not always to his liking :-).
Kayla’s vocabulary grew on this trip, adding new words to her word bank daily. She also started climbing a lot more and seemed to grow up some. She also slept really well maybe due to the heat and to being worn out from the daily activities.

Naps on duty and beer…?
Maybe they have the right idea.

Oma and Opa came back for another weeks visit.
Kayla basically decided she’d have nothing more to do with me while they were here since they were so much fun. We went to the zoo, hit several playgrounds and went on a nice hike as well.
