This Sunday we hiked up to Rattlesnake ledge. It was a gorgeous day out. Kayla amused the many hikers coming down the trail, as she was babbling and bffting up a storm. She really seems to enjoy going on walks and being outside, especially when facing front in the bjorn. Last weekend we hiked Little Si. That was quite the adventure as I ended up getting a few hornet stings. Those things hurt!
The fall colors are really starting to come out. It’s hard to believe that it’s almost fall already. What an amazing summer it’s been. Hazy I will admit, but amazing nonetheless.

Speaking of the amazing one herself, Kayla turned 5 months old on Friday.

Kayla is now a pro at rolling over from back to front. All that practice paid off. She seems to have forgotten how to get back, but I’m sure that’ll come in time. She is really able to figure out how to roll a certain way to get a toy that is out of her reach. She is usually persistant and usually prevails. That is of course as long as it’s not completely out of her range.

After weeks of Kayla waking frequently throughout the night, she finally did some serious sleeping. Last wednesday she pulled a 9 hour stretch, a quick feeding, back in bed still awake, and woke up 4 hours after that. It did get slightly less each night after that,(seems like a hour less in between wakings) but I’ll take those four nights of bliss. What was different you ask? Well for one, her dad is putting her to sleep. I feed her and say goodnight and then Tim does the rest. Also that first night I found her on her stomach, and that must have been a part of the comfort sleep. We also tried to have the heat on a bit more in case all her moving around was due to the cold. Anyhow, Oma really wanted me to mention the sleep thing, so I did. At least I know the little one has it in her when she is ready.
