We attempted our first road trip this weekend. Our destination was Portland for Sarah’s graduation party. We made it there and back and even managed to have some fun along the way. Saturday actually went well. Kayla slept in the car most of the way. Tim sat in back with her for some of the time that she was awake, talking to her and reading books to her. We had a few feeding stops along the road, stopped in Vancouver for dinner, and made it to the party around 8pm. Kayla was somewhat fussy when we got to the party, which held up the “pass baby around” line. It was fun to see the family and as it turns out, suprise everyone that we were coming. Sunday’s trip home was a bit more wearing. Kayla was awake and wanted to stop to eat at virtually every exit. We had plans to stop in Olympia, and did finally make it there about 6pm? We left Portland around 2. We walked in the woods at Priest Point state park. I think we finally made it home after 9pm.

This photo was taken before leaving for Portland. I forgot to add that while checking into the motel, Kayla, while frantically waving her hands, stopped suddenly and noticed her finger. She looked at it for a brief moment and then carried on.
